Call for proposals: information literacy and society

The Media and Information Literacy Alliance invites proposals for research to produce a comprehensive review (for example, systematic, narrative or an appropriate mix) of research from 2005 onwards about information literacy (IL) and society. The aims of the review are to:

  1. Identify core research into the role that IL plays for different user groups in society
  1. Identify core research into the barriers/enablers to shaping an information literate population
  1. Map research methodologies used in the literature and which appear to be most effective

This is MILA's first commissioned piece of research, with up to £10,000 available to applicants, thanks to financial support from CILIP and the CILIP Information Literacy Group. The study should make an important contribution to extending the evidence base about the relevance and impact of information literacy. Full details are included in the project specification below.

The full specification and invitation to bid may be viewed and downloaded below. Completed applications should be returned no later than Friday 1 July 2022 at 5:00pm, to MILA's coordinator, Stéphane Goldstein, sg@informall.org.uk, who will be happy to answer any questions about this work.
